The "foie gras" production was developped in the Gers from the beginning of the 16th century.

Samatan is known as the "City of Foie Gras",and is famous for it's poultry market which takes place every Monday. There you can find, amongst other things, duck and goose products, vegetables and all kind of tasty delicacies.
